Delete your data — Spotlight Dreams

Short version: Spotlight Dreams has no accounts and no cloud saves, so you can delete your game progress directly on your device. Analytics and crash reporting have separate controls in Settings → Privacy & Data. Turning them off stops future reporting; uninstalling removes local game data. Neither action automatically erases information already received by Google or purchase providers. For that data, see the request options and retention below.

Delete your data yourself (fastest)

1. Turn off optional reporting. Open Settings → Privacy & Data. Use the analytics control to choose Don't share, then choose Change crash reporting → Not now. These are separate settings. Turning crash reporting off stops future reports and requests deletion of unsent reports on the device. It does not delete reports already uploaded.

2. Delete your game save. In the game, open Settings → Delete Save (repeat for each save slot you used). This erases your character, career, money and all progress.

3. Uninstall the app. This removes any remaining game data from your device and may reset local installation identifiers. Uninstalling or reinstalling does not erase earlier analytics, crash reports or purchase records held by Google, Apple or RevenueCat. Save any IDs needed for a data request before you uninstall.

Ask us to delete the rest

The steps above stop optional reporting and remove local game progress. Analytics events or crash reports uploaded before you opted out can remain with the provider until deletion or expiry. You can ask about deleting data already collected by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request".

For analytics or purchase-profile requests, open Settings → Privacy & Data → Copy IDs while the relevant IDs are still available and paste them into your email. They identify an app installation or purchase profile; we do not link them to a player account. Keep them private and copy them before uninstalling or resetting the app. Explain which data you want deleted and whether you used Android or iOS. We normally respond within one month and explain any lawful extension or data that cannot be deleted.

Crash reports and their retention

Firebase Crashlytics uses a diagnostic installation UUID and other random Firebase identifiers. The app does not attach your character name, game save, messages, email or a custom player ID. Copy IDs does not expose the Crashlytics installation UUID, so an analytics or RevenueCat ID alone cannot identify your crash reports. We may be unable to locate an individual report from your name or email.

You can still contact us without installing or reopening the game. State that your request concerns crash reports, give the platform and app version if known, and the approximate date of the problem. Do not send your game save or payment details. We will explain which provider deletion options are available for data that can be identified; we do not promise that every report can be located or immediately erased. According to Firebase's published retention policy, Crashlytics retains crash traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal from its live and backup systems.

Crash reporting is optional and separate from analytics. Its startup question appears once, before the game starts, until you save either Allow or Not now. The game remembers both choices. You can change it later under Settings → Privacy & Data without deleting your career. Reports may wait on the device while offline and upload on a later launch with consent; turning reporting off requests deletion of those unsent reports, rather than deletion of reports already on Google's servers.
